1 cup soft butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup light syrup
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cups oatmeal
1 cup chopped nuts
1 12-oz. pk. chocolate chips
1/4 cup finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together first 6 ingredients until light and fluffy.
Stir in oats and nuts. Mixture will be stiff and dry.
Press into a greased 12x18x1" pan.
Bake at 400 degrees 15-20 minutes.
Cool.
Melt chocolate chips in microwave or over hot water.
Spread over cookies.
Sprinkle with additional nuts if desired.
