2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. chopped cashews or pecans (opt)

Grease a cookie sheet. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, ground nutmeg. Beat 1/2 c. butter for 30 sec.; add 1 c. packed brown sugar and beat till fluffy. Add 1 egg and 1/2 tsp vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients and 1/2 c. sour cream alternately to beaten mixture, beating after each addition. Stir 1 c. chopped cashews or pecans if you decide to use them. Drop from a tsp. 2 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375º oven 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheet immediately; cool on a wire rack. Frost tops of cooled cookies with browned butter frosting.
