Directions:
Soften yeast in warm water. In a sauce pan, combine salt, butter, sugar and milk. Scald, remove from heat and stir until sugar is dissolved and butter melted. Pour into large bowl and stir until cooled. Stir in 2 slightly beaten eggs (reserve 1 or 2 tbsp. in small bowl) and vanilla. Add yeast and stir well. Add flour gradually, beating well to form a stiff batter. Cover with waxed paper and put in a warm place (about 1 hour). When doubled, beat down and let rise again (about 45 minutes). Beat down and with wooden spoon, put batter in 2 greased loaf pans. Brush tops with reserved egg. Bake at 350º for 20 to 30 minutes. Don't over bake. Turn out on racks and seal in plastic bag.
