2/3 c. of butter or margarine
2/3 c. of all-purpose flour
7 c. of milk
4 large baking potatoes- cubed
4 green onions- chopped
12 bacon strips (or 1/2 jar of bacon bits!)
1 3/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 c. of sour cream
3/4 tsp. of salt
1/2 tsp. of pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In a large soup kettle or Dutch oven, melt the butter. Stir in the flour; heat and stir until smooth. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened.

Add potatoes and onions. Bring to a boil and stir constantly. Reduce heat; simmer for 15 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; stir until cheese is melted. Ready to serve immediately.
