Directions: |
Directions:Add water up to one inch of top of 5 quart Dutch Oven. Bring to moderate simmer or slight glub. Beans will swell and onions will cook down. When beans fully swell, decide if you want more broth or more ham. Add accordingly until kettle is as full as you want. Simmer/glub two to three hours, stirring occasionally. Season to taste. |

Notes: I use Farmland Pit Ham Boneless. It has robust flavor, but is spendy. To me, other hams will lower the quality of the soup. Serve the soup with homemade fresh bread.
