2 cups sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 ½ tsp salt
1 cup shortening (½ cup Oleo, ½ Butter)
1 1/3 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp lemon extract
1 tsp grated orange rind
4 eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 3- 9 inch cake pans. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add shortening and milk and beat on low until blended. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour batter into the prepared pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool. Frost and enjoy.
