1-1/2 pounds of fresh green beans
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 T. flour
2 t. instant minced onion
1-1/2 t. salt
1/8 t. pepper
2 c. milk
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 t. Worcestershire sauce
1 5-oz. can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
1 c. soft bread crumbs
1/4 c. slivered almonds
1 T. butter or margarine, melted

Remove ends of beans and leave whole. Cook in boiling water just until tender (3-5 minutes). Drain well.
In saucepan, melt 1/4 c. butter; stir in flour, minced onion, salt and pepper. Add milk; cook and stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in Parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Add grean beans and water chestnuts; mix well.
Pour mixture into casserole dish. Combine bread crumbs, almonds and 1 T. melted butter or margarine. Sprinkle crumb mixture over casserole. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees until heated through for 50-60 minutes.
