1 # dried black eyed peas
1/4 # bacon or ham
1/2 tsp.salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
water
crock pot

Directions:
Directions:
Wash the black eyed peas and soak in 6-8 cups cold water and let stand overnight (or for 6-8 hours). Discard water and rinse the peas.
Place the soaked peas, bacon and salt and pepper in a crock pot. Add enough water to cover and cook on Low setting for 12-15 hours or High for 6-8 hours.
