I qt home canned tomatoes or store bought
Bacon drippings (1/8 c)
3 tbsp flour
1tsp sugar
1 c water
Salt & Pepper to taste

After frying the fat back (that's bacon to ya'll city folks) drain off skillet till ya have about 1/8 c of grease....add the flour brown then add the tomatoes..stir well...NO LUMPS.. add the water and seasonings...(maybe a little more sugar, all according to acid in tomatoes) simmer till thickens.

Gotta have homemade biscuits to serve the gravy over...ya can fix some rice or grits...fried fatback...and fried eggs...can't beat it...On a cold winter morning this will bring the crowd running!
