3/4 c. butter (not margarine)
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
4 medium eggs (not large)
1 c. white sugar
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
Add to creamed mixture.
1 teaspoon lemon extract
rind of 1 large lemon, grated

Directions:

Cream shortening and brown sugar. Beat eggs in separate bowl. Add white sugar; beat again. Mix with shortening and brown sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight.
Roll into balls--size depends on the iron--and bake using Brätzli iron.
