4 c. dates
3 c. boiling water
2 tsp.baking soda
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
2 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle soda on dates. Pour boiling water over dates. Cream butter, sugar and eggs; beat well. Mix flour and dates alternately into egg mixture. Add nuts last. Pour into well greased pans.
Bake 40 minutes at 350º and then test. Put a pan of water in oven underneath the bread pans.
