1 c. uncooked wild rice
1/2 c. slivered almonds
8 oz. canned mushrooms
1/4 c. butter
2 T. chives, chopped (optional)
3 c. chicken broth

Directions:
Directions:
Rinse wild rice under running water, using a strainer or bowl; drain. Melt butter; add rice almonds, chives and mushrooms. Cook, stirring, until almonds are golden brown. Heat oven to 325º. Put rice and sauteed mixture into buttered 1 1/2 qt. casserole; mix. Pour boiling broth over rice. Cover lightly and bake about 1 1/2 hours until liquid is absorbed but rice is not dry. OR place in slow cooker and cook for 2 hours on high.
