2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 large eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 cup sour milk ( 1 Tbsp. vinegar and 1 cup milk)
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Sift flour and salt twice. Cream butter and sugar in bowl; add eggs and beat hard. Add 1/3 flour mixture and beat. Add 1/2 milk, then add 1/3 flour, then 1/2 milk, then the rest of flour (mix after each addition).

Add cocoa and water in large bowl; stir to dissolve cocoa. Add soda while still boiling hot. Stir and add to cake mixture. Add vanilla and mix.

Bake at 325º in greased and floured jelly roll pan for 20 to 25 minutes. It can also be baked in a 9 x 13 inch pan for 40 minutes.
