* 1 and 2/3 cups white sugar
* 3/4 cups(1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine melted
* 2 tablespoons water
* 2 large eggs
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
* 3/4 cup baking cocoa
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 3/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
* 1/8 cup caramel ( i use the squeezable kind that you put on top of ice cream)

Directions:

* preheat oven to 350 degrees
* grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan
* combine sugar, butter, and water in a large bowl. stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
* combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl; stir into sugar mixture. stir in caramel. then stir in nuts. and spread into prepared baking pan. squirt some caramel on top to make a zig zag pattern (for decoration)
* bake for 18-25 minutes or until tooth pick inserted in center comes out clean. cool completely in pan, cut into bars.
Also if you don't want the caramel prepare as above says minus the caramel and after they cool sprinkle some powdered sugar on top then cut in to bars.
