2 cubes real butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. water
1 lb. toasted, chopped almonds

To Toast Almonds:
Place almonds on a cookie sheet one layer deep. Preheat oven at 350º. Cook almonds about 10-15 minutes, turning over every five minutes. Remove when almond is lightly toasted. Burns very quickly!
Chop coarsely.

Mix butter, sugar, and water in a saucepan. Bring to boil. Cook and stir (about 10 minutes) until mixture turns almost the color of Kraft caramels. Remove just before candy burns. Pour hot toffee over almonds. Let cool outside until candy is cool to touch. Break apart into pieces. Place candy in tins or boxes for holiday gifts.
