6 slices bread
Butter
1 pound bulk pork sausage
1 to 1 1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
6 eggs beaten
2 cups milk
salt and pepper to taste
Dash Tabasco or cayenne pepper (optional)
1 tsp dry mustard (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Remove crusts from bread; butter slices then layer bread in a buttered 13-by-9-by-2-inch casserole dish. Crumble sausage in a skillet and brown. Drain well, then sprinkle sausage evenly over bread slices. Sprinkle on cheese.

Combine eggs, milk, salt, Tabasco and mustard, blending well. Pour over ingredients in casserole; cover and refrigerate overnight.

Remove from refrigerator 15 min before baking. Bake, uncovered, at 350º for 35 to 45 min or until set.
