Cake:
1-1/4 c. vegetable oil
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c. nuts
1 t. salt
2 t. vanilla
2 c. sugar
2 lg or 3 sm apples
3 c. flour
1 t. soda
1 t. cinnamon (opt.)

Frosting:
1 stick butter
1 c. lt. brown sugar
1/4 c. evap. milk
1 t. vanilla
chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Combine oil, sugar and eggs and beat. Add apples and nuts. Slowly add flour, mixed with salt and soda. Add vanilla and beat well. Bake in 2 9" cake pans or in a tube pan. Place in cold oven; turn to 325º for 45 minutes or until tests done.

Frosting: Melt sugar and butter together over low heat. Add milk. Bring to a hard boil and remove from heat. Cool slightly and beat well. Spread on cake and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cake is very moist.
