1/2 pound butter - 2 sticks at room temperature
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 rounded teaspoon baking soda
1 cup slivered almonds
3 1/2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º
Cream butter, brown sugar and sugar until creamy
Add eggs and mix well
Mix baking soda and flour together then add butter mixture and mix well.
Add chopped almonds
Make 2 logs, wrap in wax paper and freeze overnight
Slice logs as thin as possible, bake on un-greased cookie sheets about 5 minutes or until light brown.
