" Make your turkey"....stuff,sew and grease well. Place in a large brown-paper grocery bag. Tie with a string. Place on a roasting pan. Put in cold oven. Turn oven to 500 and cook for one hour. Turn oven to 400 and cook for one hour. Turn oven to 300 and cook for one hour. Remove and let stand for a little while before carvung

Mimi gave us this recipe in the 70's. It is from the Up-Country Maui cookbook. We and many family members have uesd it for more than 30 years. It never fails. Note; don't let paper bag touch coils of electric oven.
