2 cups shortening
3 cups light brown sugar
5 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
6 cups wheat flour (unsifted)
2 1/2 tsp soda
2 1/2 tsp salt
(Add 1/4 cup wheat germ if not puffy)
2 cups nuts and chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla till fluffy. Stir in dry ingredients, nuts, and chips. Drop by spoonful on cookie sheet. Bake 350º for 13 minutes. Cool on rack.
