2 cups enriched flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (2 medium)
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together shortening, sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and egg. Blend in banana, then flour mixture. Stir in chocolate pieces. Spread batter evenly in greased and floured 10 x 15" pan. Bake in preheated 350º oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack 15 minutes. Cut into bars. Cool completely on wire rack. Store in tightly covered container.
