1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups oats
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl, place softened shortening and add sugars. Cream together, add eggs one at a time.
Mix in vanilla, then salt and soda. Gradually add flour and blend well. Add oats and nuts.
*For a chewier cookie, use less oats.

I remember when I was a little girl, I would ride my bike to Aunt Maureen's house. You could smell the cookies when you walked in the house. They were delicious. This is now one of our family favorites. -ShelleyFrausto
