1 ham bone or ham hock

Cover the beans with water. Add ham hock or bone and bring to a boil. Spoon off any scum on top. Cook for 4 to 6 hours or until tender. Add additional water as needed.

My family has always liked this especially on cold days. We all like to put mustard on top. Matt and Taylor like bread under the soup. I usually serve with cornbread.
