1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour.
1-1/4 cups whole wheat flour.
3 T sugar.
1-1/2 T baking powder.
3/4 t salt.
3-1/3 cups 2% milk,
1/2 cup vegetable oil,
3 large eggs,
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts,

Place first 8 ingredients (excluding nuts) in a large mixing bowl and combine until well-blended and smooth. Add nuts and stir until combines. Let batter sit 5 minutes before using. Pour 1-1/4 cup batter onto preheated waffle maker, spread batter until evenly distributed. Allow batter to bubble for 5 - 10 seconds, then close cover of waffle maker. Indicator light will turn red. When light turns green again , waffles are ready. Open cover and carefully remove baked waffle. Repeat with remaining batter. For best results serve immediately. However, you may keep waffles warm in a 200 degree until ready to serve.
