Onions, chopped
Celery, chopped
Bell peppers, chopped
Crisco oil (or olive oil)
Two T of flour
1 can tomato paste
3 cans tomatoes sauce
2 (or 3) cans okra
1 lb crab meat
Cooked rice

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions, celery and peppers until tender. Remove from skillet and put in a crock pot. Add 2 tablespoon of flour to olive oil. Brown. Add tomato paste. Add tomato sauce. Add water, if needed, to make a smooth sauce. Add to crock pot. Add okra. Cook in crock pot for 2 - 3 hours on low. Add crab meat and cook an additional four to six hours.
You can add the crab meat earlier if you want to do so. Add water as desired.

Mother,of course, made this with fresh crabs that we had caught. She cooked it all day in a recessed cooker on the stove. I use a crock pot. Serve this with a salad and wheatworth crackers.
