CAKE :
1/3 cup mashed bananas
1/2 cup softened butter
3 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1-1/4 cup water
3 cups unbleached white flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 cup chopped dates(Same as one 8-oz box)

TOPPING :
1/3 cup chopped dates
1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/3 cup flaked coconut
Directions:
Directions:
Beat together first ingredients until creamy. Add eggs,vanilla and water - beat.
Measure dry ingredients and mix well, add to liquid/beat well.
Stir in chopped dates. Spoon batter into oiled and floured 9x13 baking pan. Spear evenly in pan. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter.
Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean
Cool on wire rack.
