10-12 lb smoked cooked ham (I prefer one with a bone, papa likes boneless, but if you use a bone, I think it tastes better and you can make beans later)
1 lb dark brown sugar
1 lb grapes
3 granny smith apples
1/2 lb dried apricots
3 cinnamon sticks
16 cloves
1 two liter bottle of root beer

Directions:
Directions:
Put all ingredients together in a large roasting pan and bring to a boil. Cook at a slow simmer for 2-3 hours rolling the ham every hour.
Remove ham and place on baking sheet.
Preheat the oven to 325º.
Strain the liquid into a saucepan and reduce it (about 1/2 hour). Pour some over the ham and put ham in the oven for another 1/2 hour or so.
