3-4 c. flour
1-1/2 c. buttermilk
5 eggs
2 boxes seedless raisins
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 t. soda
1 t. vanilla
1 qt. pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Coat raisins and nuts with 1 c. of flour. Set aside. Combine butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time, then add 1 cup of buttermilk slowly. Add 1 teaspoon of soda to the other 1/2 cup of buttermilk. Stir well, alternate flour and buttermilk, until it is all used. Then add raisins and nuts to cake mixture. Stir ingredients real well, then put into a greased pan, line bottom of pan with brown paper. Warm pan before placing in oven. Bake at 325º. Note: If buttermilk is real fresh, do not use a teaspoon of soda, use less.
