3 c. flour
8 egg whites
2 c. sugar, divided
1 t. vanilla
1 T. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
1 c. Crisco
1 c. milk

8 egg yolks
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. coconut
1 c. nuts

Cake: Stir together baking powder and flour. Beat eggs whites and salt until foaming. Slowly add 1/2 c. sugar and beat until stiff. Cream Crisco and remaining sugar with vanilla. Stir in flour mixture with milk until well mixed. Bake in 4 layers at 350 until lightly browned.

Filling: Combine ingredients. Cook until thick (about 20 minutes). Put between cake layers.
