Crust:
1 lb butter or oleo
4 c flour
1 c water
1/4 tsp cream of tartar



Filling:
1 lb Kernel or Almond Paste
2 c sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
3 eggs (2 eggs and 1 yolk)

Mix crust ingredients. Roll in ball and refrigerate. Mix almond paste with sugar, and eggs (reserve
1 egg white for crust) Roll out dough in flour to 10" - 12" long by 9" wide. Roll filling on a little flour to 8" X 2". Place lengthwise on dough and roll up, putting a little water on dough as you roll. Seal seam well. Brush with remaining egg white and some sugar. Bake at 425º for 15 minutes.
