1 cup shortening (solid)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
2 eggs
1 tsp. of soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
21/2 - 3 cups flour (depends on how stiff you want your dough) the stiffer the dough the crunchier the cookie.
1-16 oz pkg chocolate chips
1 cup pecans

Mix first (7) ingredients well; add flour a little at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Add chocolate chips and pecans.
Drop by spoonfuls onto non greased baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown - cool on wire racks.
