Chicago Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

3 1/2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 stick butter-room temperature
1 stick margarine-room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup oil-like canola, wesson, etc.
1 cup oatmeal-instant
1 cup crushed corn flakes-not too fine
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 cup crushed nuts-opt. walnuts, pecan, or your favorite

Sift first three ingredients and put aside.
Cream butter, margarine, add sugars, beat until blended. Add egg, milk, and vanilla, blend until combined. Combine flour mixture alternately with the 1/2 cup oil, blend well, combine the oatmeal and corn flakes by hand, add chocolate chips and nuts. Use a cookie scoop so all the cookies will be the same size, or use a teaspoon, place on a ungreased baking sheet. Bake 350 for 12-15 minutes, depending on your oven.
