2 ib whole tiny new potatoes (24-32)
1/2 c. water
1 small onion, sliced and separated into rings
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. white ground pepper
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. chicken broth
1/2 c. shredded process Gruyere cheese (2 oz)
Sinpped parsley

Wash the potatoes thoroughly. Halve any large potatoes. WIth a veg peeler, peel a strip around the center of each remaining whole potato. In a 1 1/2 or 2-quart casserole dish combine the potatoes, water, onion, and salt. Micro-cook covered for 14 to 18 minutes on high power or 17-29 in overn on low or till potatoes are tender, stirring mixture twice. Let veg. standf, covered while preparing the sauce. For the sauce, in a 2-cup glass measure combine the flour, garlic powder and the pepper. Stir in milk and broth. Cook uncovered for 21/2 to 31/2 min. or till mixture thickens and bubbles, stirring every thirty seconds during cooking time. Stir in cheese. Cookm uncovered, on high for 1 to 11/2 min or til cheese is melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Drain the potato mixture. Add the cheese sauce to potatoes. Gently toss till the potatoes are well coated with cheese sauce. Sprinkle the snipped parsley over the potato mixture to garnish.
