5 c. flour, sifted
1 t. soda
3 t. baking powder
1/4 c. warm water
1 c. shortening
1/3 c. sugar
2 t. salt
1 package dry yeast
1-1/2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in war water and combine with buttermilk and then add this to dry ingredients. Stir well and then knead. Add more flour if necessary. Roll out on floured board about 1/2 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter. Brush tops with melted butter. Bake at 450º until golden brown. Cut out buscuits may be frozen on cookie sheets until hard and then palce in plastic bags and kept frozen until needed.
