1 lb. pitted dates
1 1/4 lb. sliced lean bacon
1 4-oz pkg. blanched whole almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Stuff each date with one whole almond. Cut bacon strips into thirds and wrap a piece around each date. Secure with a round (un-dyed) wooden toothpick. Put the dates on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake in a preheated 400º oven until bacon is crisp (12 to 15 minutes). Prepared dates can be frozen in advance and baked unthawed till crisp.
