3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
2 heaping tablespoons shortening
Buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sifted dry ingredients with shortening and blend into crumbs. Add enough buttermilk to make a soft dough and knead 5 minutes. Turn into a well greased loaf pan and prick top of bread with a fork. Bake 35 minutes in 375 degree oven.
