1 head red cabbage
4 strips diced bacon
1 onion chopped
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 cup red wine
2 apples peeled, cored and chopped
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Core cabbage, shred and drop into boiling salted water for 10 minutes until wilted, and then drain. In large skillet fry bacon until crisp. Add onion and sauté until golden. Add vinegar carefully along with red wine and cabbage. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add apples, cover and cook for another 20 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
