1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2-1/4 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
2 cups apples, thinly sliced

Topping:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening until light and fluffy. Add sugar and beat. Add eggs one at a time. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Gently fold in sliced apples. Pour into greased and floured pan. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle topping on cake mixture. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.
