4 c flour
2 c sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 c nuts
sm pkg dates diced
2 eggs beaten
2 tsp baking soda
2 c boiling water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt, & baking powder together.
Cream butter, add sugar, eggs and nuts.
Add diced dates to boiling water. Add baking soda to this mixture.
Alternate dry ingredients with liquid date mixture to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix well.
Grease 5 or 6 - 15 oz cans.
Pour mixture into cans & fill 1/2 way.

Bake in 350º oven for 1 hr.
