1 pkg. yeast (2 1/4 tsp.)
1/4 C. warm water
1 C. creamed cottage cheese
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. minced dry onion
1 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. dill seed
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
2 1/2 C. flour

350 degrees for 15-20 min. 9x11 greased dish or muffin tins

Dissolve yeast in warm water set aside. Warm cottage cheese and butter. Add yeast, sugar, onion, dill seed and lightly beaten egg. Stir well. Mix flour, baking soda and salt and add to above. Stir well. It will be a bit sticky. Flour your hands and make into 16 balls. Place in greased pan. Flatten just a little. Let rise till double. Bake till nicely browned.

This was Grandma Laura Bartletts recipe as are the spritz cookies. I often make ahead and freeze and reheat as many as needed. The flavor seems to go through them better. I usually double or triple the recipe.
