4 slices bacon diced
1 onion chopped
3 potatoes peeled and cubed
2 c. carrots peeled and sliced
2 stalks of celery sliced
2 t. salt
1/8 t. nutmeg
1 qt. milk
1 can creamed corn
1, 10 oz pkg. frozen corn
1/8 t. pepper
1/2 c. shredded cheddar or Gruyere cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Cook bacon in Dutch oven until brown, stir often. (I've also substituted 1 c. diced ham for the bacon)
Add onion and cook until tender but not brown.
Add potatoes, carrots, celery, salt, nutmeg and milk.
Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.
Add corn and pepper. Bring to boil to heat through.
Add cheese.
