Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb ground sausage
1 lb ground chuck
1 lb Kraft Velveeta cheese
1 lb cocktail rye bread
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the meats, drain, and set aside.
Over low heat, combine meats. cheese and spices for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted.
Remove from the heat and cool for about 15 minutes.
Lay the bread slices flat on an ungreased cookie sheet. Leave about a 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch of space around each slice on the cookie sheet(s). You may need to use more than one cookie sheet to fit all the slices or simply re-use the same cookie sheet again after it cools.
Spoon about 1/4 cup meat mixture onto each of the bread slices. Spread as evenly as possible to the edges of each slice. It's ok to leave the edges slightly bare. This will provide a little bit of extra crispness. The mixture should be about 1/2 inch thick on each slice.
Once the bread slices have been covered, bake in a conventional oven at 350 for about 15 minutes or until the meat mixture begins to bubble.
You can experiment with a slightly longer baking time for extra crispness as desired.

The recipe for these easy and tasty mini pizzas came from an ex-co-worker friend. I've continued to use this recipe for many years.
