1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 t. ginger
1/2 c. molasses
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 t. baking soda
2 t. baking powder
1 1/2 t. salt
1 t. cinnamon
5 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening , molasses, sugar and spices together. Mix well,add water mixing ell. Set aside and let cool. Add the remaining ingredient to the first mixture. Mix well. Pour the dough out on a lightly floured surface and shape into a roll about 2 1/2 thick. Set it aside to cool. After dough has chilled cut slices off about 1/4 inch thick and bake in a 375º oven for 12 minutes or until done.
