1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
2 c. finely chopped apple
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 T. melted butter or margarine

Directions:

In mixing bowl, cream together ½ cup shortening and 1 cup granulated sugar. Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla; beat well. Sift together 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and ¼ teaspoon salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with 1 cup dairy sour cream. Fold in 2 cup finely chopped apple. Spread batter in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Combine ½ cup chopped nuts, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 2 Tablespoon melted butter or margarine. Sprinkle over batter. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
