1 package dry yeast
3/8 cup luke warm water
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups water
1/4 cup shortening
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup dark molasses
1/2 cup rye four
1 cup graham flour
3 1/2 to 4 cups all purpose flour

Soak yeast in luke warm water with 1 teaspoon sugar. Heat 1 cup water to boiling. Pour over 1/2 cup sugar, shortening, salt, and mosasses in mixing bowl. Stir to dissolve shortening. Add remaining cup of water to mixinng bowl and cool to lukewarm.

In separate bowl mix together rye and graham flour thoroughly. When shortening mixture is lukewarm add dissolved yeast and stir in rye and graham flours.
