1 quart buttermilk
3 1/2 cup sugar
9 beaten eggs
6 Tablespoons oil
2 tsp vanilla
10 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
2 tsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ginger
lard

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 1 qt buttermilk and 3 1/2 cup sugar. Let stand 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. Mix 9 eggs, oil, and vanilla. Add sugar mixture.
Sift and add: 10 cup flour, 3 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp soda, 3/4 tsp salt, 2 tsp nutgeg, and 1/4 tsp ginger.
Drop into hot grease (I use lard)
Quickly turn donuts as they come up. Then turn them again several times to prevent bumps and bubbles.
