1 pkg. Bakers German Sweet
½ c. water
Chocolate
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 egg yokes
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
2 ½ c. flour
4 egg whites beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate in boiling water. Cool. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yokes, one at a time, beat after each. Add chocolate and vanilla. Sift flour and soda and salt. Add flour alternately with buttermilk to egg mixture, beat. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into 3 eight or nine inch lightly greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350º for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool and frost with Coconut pecan frosting.º
