2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup apple juice
1 1/2 cups finely chopped apples
2 eggs
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Frosting:
4 tablespoons butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons apple juice

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in brown sugar. Add shortening, apple juice and chopped apples. Beat until smooth. Add eggs. Stir in raisins and nuts.

Bake in greased 9 x 13 pan at 350º for 30-35 minutes.

Cool completely.

Frosting:
Combine butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and apple juice. Mix well, and spread on cooled cake.
