Place eggs in a large saucepan in a single layer, cover with 1-inch of cool water. Slowly bring water to a boil over medium heat; when the water has reached a boil, cover pan and remove from heat. Let eggs sit in covered pan for 12 minutes.
Transfer eggs carefully to a colander, place under cool running water to stop the eggs from cooking.

Eggs can be peeled and served immediately. Any remaining eggs, with shells on; may be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
