4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 T. sugar
1 yeast cake
¼ cup luke warm water
1 c. sweet milk
4 T. melted shorting
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Shift dry ingredients together. Dissolve yeast cake in water. Scold the milk and melt the shorting in the hot milk. Add the beaten egg and the yeast cake. To this mixture add all the flour and beat until smooth paste. Put out a little flour and work the flour into the dough. Kneading the dough until it forms a ball. Let the dough rise and double in size. Now make into rolls and let rise again. Baking at 400º for 10 minutes or golden brown.
